Nineteen Restaurant is housed in one of York’s oldest buildings on Grape Lane, just a couple of minutes walk away from the city’s famous Minster. It dates back to the fifteenth century and the restaurant combines old world charm with modern furnishings to create one of the city’s most atmospheric dining experiences. Chef/Proprietor Phill Upton has worked in various two- and three AA-rosetted restaurants around the York area and opened Nineteen in June 2007.
It can accommodate 40 diners over two floors and table 9, with its view along Swinegate, is one of the most sought after tables in the city. The food at Nineteen is Modern British with a European twist and there is a choice of menus – the Epicure a la carte menu and the set Market Menu. Fresh ingredients from local suppliers are used wherever possible.
Nineteen is available also for private parties, weddings and outside catering events.
